The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is the lead UN agency in the fight against illicit drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism in virtue of the UN Conventions and Universal Instruments in this regard. UNODC’s mission is to contribute to global peace and security, human rights and development, by making the world safer from drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism. The UNODC Programme Office for Ukraine (UNODC POU) is located in Kyiv, Ukraine. UNODC is a member of the UN Country Team and builds on its ongoing presence in Ukraine to support the Government of Ukraine’s response to the economic and social impact of the war in Ukraine. Under the guidance and supervision of Head of Office, the Driver/Clerk will be responsible for overall logistics, transportation of staff and performance of basic receptionist and clerical services to support efficient functioning of the office, ensuring high accuracy of work and timely delivery of results.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Driver/Clerk will perform a wide range of safe, reliable, courteous and discreet ground transportation and support services for UNODC POU:
- Provision of reliable and secure driving services
- Proper use of vehicle
- Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles
- Ensuring availability of required documents/supplies for vehicles
- Provision of administrative/clerical services.
1. Ensures provision of reliable and secure driving services by:
a) driving office vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel within the city and to the regions with possible over-nights trips in the region (trips to/from airports in neighboring countries are possible);
b) providing adequate day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles through effecting timely arranging for minor and major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, water levels and coolant, washing, etc. so that the said vehicle is kept clean and in good and safe running condition at all times;
c) keeping abreast of road traffic conditions, security conditions, event schedules, weather and other relevant information and use familiarity of the local area to select among alternative routes those that facilitate punctual arrivals and departures;
d) ensuring cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
e) ensuring availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicles;
f) keeping track of insurance and other tax formalities.
2. Meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, railway stations; participate in logistical activities related to UNODC POU events, inclusive of preparation of seating arrangements in accordance with event requirements and UN protocol; preparation/reproduction of events documents and handling of different equipment.
3. Assist UNODC POU with filing, collection and distribution of mail, packages, purchases and correspondences, both incoming and outgoing.
4. Submitting documents required for creation travelers profiles in UNODC SAP-based application (UMOJA), requests for security clearance; support visa and customs formalities/arrangements;
5. Makes arrangements for shipment and receipt of office and project supplies and equipment and household effects, including customs clearance.
6. Assists office staff in filing, photocopying etc when required.
7. Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in driving and/or transportation; safe driving record; excellent knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair are required.
- Experience in logistics or administrative support or general office management is required.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel) is required.
- Knowledge of protocol and customs issues is desirable.
- Experience of work for international organizations is desirable.
- Experience in the region is desirable.
Education:
- Secondary Education.
- Valid Driver’s license (B and C1 or C categories).
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Ukrainian;
- working knowledge of English is required.
