Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Emergency and Stabilization Programme Coordinator, and under the direct supervision of the Head of Field Office, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Emergency and Stabilization efforts carried out by the Field Office in Donetsk.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the Emergency Coordinator and the relevant Project Specialists, prepare weekly work plans for distribution of humanitarian assistance to beneficiaries and institutions;
- Assist in assessing needs in field locations and identifying priorities for IOM’s assistance in Donetsk;
- Share daily updates on the security situation in project implementation sites and provide regular information about accessible and inaccessible areas;
- Facilitate coordination with counterparts in the field to enable efficient activity implementation, including local de facto authorities, implementing partners and other humanitarian actors;
- Document challenges and successes of on-going programming through regular reports to the Emergency Coordinator and the Project Specialists, as relevant;
- Contribute to distribution efforts, including the identification of the distribution venue, the selection of casual labourers to support distribution on site and coordinate with the Logistics Assistant the transportation of goods;
- Maintain constant communication with Implementing Partners on strictly operational issues;
- Support project staff in regular reporting (IOM internal, IOM external, UN-related, etc.), correspondence, publication and presentation materials;
- Provide informal interpretation and written translation (English/Ukrainian, Russian as well) when necessary;
- Render support to programme visibility as necessary;
- Undertake duty travel within Ukraine, including post-conflict areas pertinent for Emergency and Stabilization programming, on an as-needed basis;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High school diploma/certificate with four years of relevant work experience
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, or Procurement) from an accredited academic institution with at least two years of relevant work experience.
Experience
- Experience in the humanitarian sector
- Knowledge of humanitarian activities and context is advantageous
- Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experienced with organizational and administrative duties
Languages
Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
