Chemonics International, a global consulting and international development firm, seeks a Grants Specialist, full-time position, for the USAID-funded Competitive Economy Program (CEP). This five-year program will encourage startup businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), increase domestic market competition and support the competitiveness of Ukrainian firms in international markets. Position Description
The Grants Specialist will support CEP’s Grants & Subcontracts Team with the following aspects of grants: grant administration and documentation; organizing and filing grant applications and supporting documentation; supporting the grant selection processes, negotiations, and grants awards for specific grant programs, as needed. The Grants Specialist will also assist in the design, development, and application of the project’s grants policies, procedures and practices.
The Grants Specialist will operate within the Grants & Subcontracts Team and under the supervision of the Grants Manager. The Grants Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Grants Manager in the management of all grants awarded by CEP and ensuring that the grants comply with USAID regulations, the CEP contract, and Chemonics’ policies and procedures. Additionally, the Grants Specialist will support the Grants & Subcontracts Team with management of procurement logistics and subcontracts, as needed. The Grants Specialist will also assist CEP’s MEL/Gender Manager and the Grants & Subcontracts Team with collecting, entering, and analyzing grantee and subcontractor data, which contributes to CEP’s reporting requirements.
The Grants Specialist should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field required;
- Minimum 4 years of professional work experience required; 3 years of experience in grants management implementing USAID or other donor-funded projects preferred;
- A proven track record of working collaboratively with local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government partners, and/or the private sector required;
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence required to maintain good relations with internal stakeholders, strategic local partners, and government counterparts;
- Strong organizational, communication, and task management skills;
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a team, skilled in multi-tasking, and able to adhere to deadlines;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, and specifically MS Excel, required;
- Professional-level English and Ukrainian – both written and oral – required.
