Greater Good Analytics Programme Director / Директор програми “Аналітика для суспільної користі”
ЗАВЕРШЕНО
Trementum Analytics is looking for a programme director to coordinate and expand the Greater Good Analytics research stream, currently comprised of social media manipulation and disinformation research projects.
The Greater Good Analytics initiative is aimed at researching societal threats brought to us by the proliferation of surveillance capitalism and the rising power of big tech companies. In 2021 we focused our big data capabilities on studying social media manipulations: elections interference, spreading hate speech, misogyny, antivax, extremist ideologies. We see it as a significant issue that threatens democracy; in particular, social media has become fertile soil for far-right and demagogue politicians who, by appealing to people’s worst traits and sharing conspiracies and hatred, manage to acquire way more engagement on their content than representatives of other views. Our job is to produce evidence-based research to inform civil society and policymakers about existing trends and threats in social media. Our past projects include the ones for the United Nations Technology Innovations Lab, NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, EU member states authorities and NGOs involved in the elections process and countering disinformation.
This role aims to build a sustainable flow of new grants and contracts and manage relationships with existing key accounts. The programme director will coordinate with the research manager and research team, external contributors and hire talent if needed to achieve this goal.
Essential qualifications:
- Experience managing client and funder relationships.
- Fundraising or business development track record.
- Narrative report writing skills (English).
Would be a plus:
- Connections among international funders.
- Experience working on disinformation research projects.
- Familiarity with the concepts of data science.
Responsibilities:
- External project management: managing expectations of funders and clients; translating their needs to the tasks for the research team.
- Coordinate fundraising and business development; this includes applications to grants and tenders, preparing project proposals and pitching them to potential funders and clients.
- Take part in strategic research planning and report structure preparation at the beginning of projects; review final research reports.
Depending on the candidate’s experience and network, the revenue sharing model might be applied on top of monthly service fee payments.
