Annex 2 – TERMS OF REFERENCE
FOR THE CONSULTANCY CONTRACT OF: Graphic Designer (MHPSS Consultant)
- Duty Station of the Consultancy: Home-based
- Duration of Consultancy: Two months
- Nature of the consultancy: Category B. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and Senior Programme Officer (MHPSS), with the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer (MHPSS); and, in collaboration with other relevant staff of the Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the design and layout of a programme overview in English and Ukrainian languages.
- Project Context and Scope: IOM Ukraine operates a range of activities including a well-established, toll-free Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) hotline serving conflict-affected populations in the country, psychological consultations provided as a part of the mobile clinics deployed by the Emergency Health Team, and a wide scale community-based MHPSS programme in the making. The consultant is expected to provide graphic design support toward the development of 1) an MHPSS programme overview; 2) an outline and design (including the development of applicable illustrations) of a toolkit on art-based approaches to psychosocial support and social cohesion programmes; 3) draft illustrations related to integrated MHPSS and livelihood (MLI) programming and concepts to be merged into IOM MLI products; and 4) video design to develop of a video about MLI in Ukraine and editing support on an existing video about resilience and adapting to change.

The Graphic Designer (MHPSS Consultant) will work on the designing and layout of several research and communications products, including:
- A toolkit on art-based approaches to psychosocial support and social cohesion programmes.
- Integrated MHPSS and livelihood (MLI) programming manual.
- MHPSS Programme Overview (January-June 2024) in Ukrainian and English (two designed files).
- Development of a video on MLI and adaptation of a second MLI video to both Ukrainian and global contexts (two adaptations).
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

- Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
- All design files, photos and supporting files used in the designing process and a final PDF version will be delivered.
- The final deliverables should be submitted electronically to IOM focal point mentioned in the initial request.
- The assignment must be completed as per a mutually agreed date.
- The final version of the reports must adhere to IOM Brand Guidelines, IOM Style Manual and IOM Spelling Guideline.
- Regular update of status of the work to IOM project team/assigned focal person.
The Graphic Designer (MHPSS Consultant) with two-instalment payment basis:
- Payment 1after completing Deliverables 1, 2 and 3 – no later than 10 July 2024
- Payment 2 completion of the Deliverable 4, 5 and 6 – no later than 1 August 2024
- Education, Experience and/or skills required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or any other related qualifications including Art and Design, with at least 5 years of work experience in Graphic design.
- Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, or similar.
- At least 3 examples of previous works to be listed.
- Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management.
- At least 3 examples of previous works should be demonstrated.
- Previous experience in working in the UN system is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity.
- Teamwork oriented but with a capacity to work independently.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
