Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context: Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and Emergency and Stabilization Programme Coordinator, and the direct supervision of the NMS Project Specialist and Programme Operations Specialist, the Intern will contribute to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Emergency and Stabilization-related programming.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist in the overall implementation of Emergency and Stabilization efforts.
- Assist in the conduct of sample surveys of internally displaced people (IDPs) in all oblasts of Ukraine through telephone interviews in support of humanitarian programmes in Ukraine:
- conduct telephone interviews with IDPs (20 interviews per day upon full-time appointment/10 interviews per upon part-time appointment);
- enter the data into the database and complete the NMS questionnaires;
- perform the quality checks of the filled-out forms;
- report on the developments and issues of concern that may arise.
- conduct interviewing (verification) of the potential beneficiaries for the cash assistance;
- provide following informing (notification) of the participants of the Project on any documents collections that are planned to be conducted in the settlements included to the Project;
- conduct timely, quality post distribution monitoring phone surveys of Cash assistance project beneficiaries;
- operate as a Project Hotline operator when assigned.
- Perform duties under cash-based interventions coordinated by Emergency and Stabilization unit, specifically:
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme or be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
OR
- Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.

Experience
- Experienced with organizational and administrative duties.
- Knowledge of humanitarian activities and context is advantageous
Languages
- Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
