Chemonics International Inc. is looking for candidates to fill the position of IT Expеrt
Background: The eight-year USAID Democratic Governance East (DG East) Activity aims to strengthen the connection and trust between citizens and their government in eastern and southern Ukraine by promoting an inclusive civic identity and common civic values and addressing the divisive impacts and the consequences of the ongoing full-scale invasion of Ukraine. DG East works to (1) develop greater acceptance of a shared civic culture based on common values and understandings, (2) increase participation to improve Ukraine’s governance and reform processes and help to resolve community problems and (3) Strengthening local economic recovery of relocated, newly liberated, and frontline communities in GOU-controlled eastern and southern Ukraine, DG East activities are implemented across four regional portfolios and an office in Kyiv.
Purpose of Assignment: The IT Expert will be responsible for providing overall technical support to DG East IT systems and equipment in the office in Kyiv and across Ukraine for multiple employees working remotely.
Detailed Tasks
- Troubleshoot system, endpoint and network issues by diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, or network faults.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating system smartphones and applications.
- Provide prompt technical support and training to project personnel.
- Maintain and manage software and hardware related to servers, firewalls, switches, computers, laptops, printers and scanners.
- Oversee the regular maintenance and cleaning of project laptops, printers, other equipment.
- Collaborate with Chemonics’ home office IT teams to ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
- Ensure that project IT systems adhere to Chemonics’ IT Security Standards.
- Manage devices within Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Manager including adding or removing devices.
- Reset users’ passwords and multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings as needed.
- Respond to endpoint protection security alerts escalating issues when necessary.
- Address unauthorized software and respond to security incidents involving project equipment.
- Administer and maintain the local area network (LAN), including switches, access points and firewalls.
- Manage IT equipment, including inventory control, software updates, updates, and version management.
- Research new IT applications to enhance office efficiency.
- Review project budgets related to IT equipment procurement, assist program staff in developing equipment lists to meet partners’ needs, and draft technical specifications and scopes of work (SOWs) for IT equipment and services procurement.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in information technology
- Experience with Office 365 services
- Experience with Identity Providers (IdP) like Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory
- Skilled in configuration management systems like Group Policy, SCCM, Microsoft Endpoint Manager
- Experience in networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN), preferably on Meraki products
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Level of Effort
This assignment will not exceed the total of 40 LOE days.
Timeframe
The timeframe for this assignment is from on/about November 1, 2024, through on/about October 31, 2025.
Reporting
The IT Expert will work under the direction of the Operations Director. Day-to-day work will be conducted in consultation and coordination with the Operations Director as well as with local DG East team members as appropriate.
Place of Performance
The assignment will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine and could also include regional travel.
