About the Project: The Promoting Reform Objectives through Technical Expertise and Capacity Transfer (PROTECT) Phase 2 is an international technical assistance project, which offers short-term expert (Ukrainian and international) deployment and capacity to strengthening defense sector of Ukraine. The project responds to the needs of Ukraine’s defence institutions and agencies and focuses on building strong analytical approaches in gender equality; women peace and security (WPS); social inclusion; defence governance and planning, capabilities development and resource management in defence. To support the delivery of the project, PROTECT2 is recruiting an experienced professional in Information Technology Expert to support the administrative team.
IT Specialist Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying PROTECT2 IT needs and specifying equipment to be purchased.
- Manage electronic equipment in the field office.
- Install network and computer system.
- Maintain, repair and upgrade the operating system including hardware and software.
- Monitor the performance of existing computer systems and IT infrastructures.
- Implement security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
- Support in effectively organizing online and hybrid events of PROTECT2 ensuring excellence of technical solutions, including simultaneous interpretation availability.
- Consult PROTECT2 team members on IT-related requirements and incoming requests in support of implementation of PROTECT2 goals in respective workstreams.
- Support in documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data.
- Lead the PROTECT2 team in developing and using different software application (SharePoint, Worksection, Excel, MS365 suite and others) to ensure efficient implementation of the project. Provide all kind of capacity building and other support on using IT tools in the programme work (planning, implementation and M&E).
IT Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or similar.
- Extensive experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies.
- Extensive experience with relevant software tools (Microsoft, SharePoint, Excel, Worksection, MS3656 suite and others) and effective training approaches
- Experience in defence and security sector is preferable, as well as track record of work in the relevant international organizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of RBM approach, planning M&E tools is preferable.
- Applicant shall be ready to provide recommendation letters on request and pass internal security clearances.
