The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is looking for a house and event coordinator to make sure that all the youth-led activities in our Youth House in Kyiv are coordinated. We are looking for a structured, positive, and socially skilled multitasker who can support our team in making sure that all youth in our House feel welcome, supported, and making sure that practical things are in order.
You are experienced in working with youth and democratic structures as well as coordinating events, so you know how to ensure that all details are in order.
About us:
The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is a platform for young people from Ukraine and Denmark that supports youth participation, democracy, and culture. Based in Kyiv, we offer a creative, democratic platform for everyone between 16 and 35 years of age to engage, facilitate and support youth projects and activism across our countries. Since 2021 we do this through our own activities and programs, through supporting youth organizations, cultural expression, and through our grants. The Youth House is formally steered by a consortium consisting of the Danish Youth Council and the Danish Cultural Institute.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating all the youth-led events, activities, and projects taking place in the building, making sure everything follows the guidelines, objectives, and policies of the UDYH
- Hosting activities and being the front desk and point of contact for anybody using the building
- Community management of the many different users of UDYH
- Assistance with the procurement for the House and events
- Supporting youth initiatives with their organizational development and projects
- Supporting the program team with coordination, facilitation, and hosting
- Supporting cultural productions and exhibitions in UDYH
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Relevant education
- Experience with youth and/or volunteering work
- Experience in event coordination and management
- Excellent social and communication skills and ability to solve conflicts
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Experience working with inclusive approaches, LNOB and HRBA is an advantage
- Flexible in terms of working hours, as events can be on weekends or evenings.
