The Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health and its founder HealthRight International announce a competition for the position of the Project Coordinator of psycho-social assistance to internally displaced women, men, and children projects in the context of humanitarian challenges in Ukraine.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Full-time employment: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Location: Kyiv or Lviv

Project implementation period: 12 months

Background: ICF “Ukrainian Foundation for Public Health” (UFPH) is a charitable fund established by HealthRight International to build local capacity and support Ukrainian initiatives to provide vital assistance to the most vulnerable women, children, and youth. Since 2005, these organizations have worked in Ukraine, implementing models aimed at preventing social orphanhood, gender-based violence, and HIV/AIDS; promoting the development of local communities by increasing the capacity of public organizations and local governments to improve the scope, access, and quality of social, psychological and rehabilitation services.

Main tasks: General coordination of projects and activities of psycho-social assistance to internally displaced women, men, and children in the context of humanitarian challenges in regions of Ukraine, in accordance with the donor requirements, methods of UFPH and its founder – HealthRight International; implementation of a monitoring and evaluation system; planning and providing training and education courses for service providers in target regions; implementation of project activities to assist the population affected by hostilities in Ukraine.

Primary functions:

  • Preparing a project implementation plan; preparing project budget related to activities, coordination of equipment procurement, monitoring and analysis of teamwork, if necessary; providing proposals to management and donors on the preparation of work plans, budgets, and activities.
  • Organizing and conducting working meetings with representatives of local authorities and partner organizations to ensure the implementation of the project and the work of project teams on the ground; monitoring local organizations and studying their ability to provide referral services within the project; preparing, approving, and signing agreements with local partners (government and local) to maintain the work of project teams.
  • Recruiting, together with local partners, and providers of social, psychological, legal, and/or healthcare services to work in teams (including interviews if needed) in case of staff termination.
  • Updating and implementing a system to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teams; preparing and providing recommendations to donors, partners, and the UFPH/HealthRight management team on the replacement of team members, and improvement of their work. Carrying out monitoring visits to assess the effectiveness of teams, and preparing reports and recommendations for donors, partners, and the UFPH/HealthRight management based on these visits.
  • Coordinating the work of assistants, forming agreements on the provision of necessary services by service providers (their writing, performance, verification, and approval); verification of service providers’ reports; advising and supporting feedback from teams on planning trips, providing the necessary package of services, filling out relevant reporting documents, and offering services to clients.
  • Coordinating the work of IT and M&E specialists on teams’ submission and team members’ completion of relevant reporting documentation and incoming online forms of the initial case assessment, as well as providing recommendations to management, partners, and donors; analyzing the results of incoming online forms of teams to ensure the efficiency and control of the provision of essential services.
  • Coordinating the work of team members on the preparation of clients’ success stories and photos to place them in the media, reports, or at the request of the donor; ensuring project visibility.
  • With supervisors, coordinating the results of psychological supervision of teams and other providers of psycho-social services; analyzing supervisory reports submitted by supervisors, and developing recommendations; providing recommendations to partners, donors, and the UFPH/HealthRight management team on improving the work of teams.
  • Forming terms of reference and coordinating procurement of equipment to ensure the functioning of teams in accordance with their needs and project objectives.
  • Coordinating and planning training and education courses within projects and other activities in accordance with the project work plan.

 Other duties:

  • Writing announcements about project activities and preparing tender-related information on team activities or project implementation.
  • Keeping correspondence with government agencies, project partners, and team members.

Reporting:

  • Preparation of monthly reports on project implementation, team work (qualitative and quantitative indicators) for the UFPH/HealthRight, the UFPH founder (by the 10th of the next month following the reporting period, to the UFPH Board quarterly), and donors (on request).
  • Preparation of monthly reports and recommendations on monitoring visits, analyzed online forms, training courses, webinars, and supervision visits (by the 10th of the next month following the reporting period) for service providers.

 Requirements:

  • University degree in public health, social affairs, public administration, and law. The experience in coordinating projects in the field of combating domestic or gender-based violence, and mental health is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in international technical assistance projects
  • Experience in project management in cooperation with UN agencies, the EU, or USAID.
  • Fluency in English.
