BACKGROUND

HELVETAS is the largest Swiss nongovernmental organization with a dual mandate for long term development and humanitarian response. It has been present in Ukraine for several year implementing development projects mainly through local partners.

During 2022 HELVETAS initiated emergency assistance. Currently we are building our operational presence to deliver comprehensive response to the current humanitarian crisis. HELVETAS plan to be active in Ukraine for next 5 years.

Starting date:  July-September 2023
Duration:        3 month – 1 year, renewable
Duty Station:   Kyiv (80/20%) 

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The position holder works under the direction of the Country Coordinator. He/she will also work closely with the Head of Finance & Admin of the Helvetas office in Chisinau.

Responsibilities

Ensure procurements are performed and relevant procedures are respected

• Monitor delivery of annual procurement plan

• Lead procurements for projects needs in a timely manner

• Ensure provision of support services (offices, transport, etc.)

• Ensure that logistics procedures are followed and documentation of all procurements are archived

• Identify & mitigate operational risks such as: transportation, legal authorizations, custom clearance, quality check etc.

• Work with HELVETAS partners to educate them in procurement and logistics procedures

• Support implementation of safety and security procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements 

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

• Strong computer skills in MS Office programs particularly Excel.

• Strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail

• Good oral and written English skills
