DAI, a global development company based in the United States, is seeking an Media & Info Analyst for its USAID Economic Resilience Activity project. The project hopes to improve the overall economic resilience of eastern Ukraine.

Roles Purpose: ERA is seeking a media and information analyst to survey Ukrainian and world media daily to ensure that the project and its stakeholders are up to date and informed on relevant events. The portfolio of topics will evolve over time but will include current news in economic, governmental, legal, social, cultural, infrastructure aspects of Ukraine as well as topics of interest in the social space on events, attitudes and believes and disinformation. Sources include internet and print media as well as personal interviews with ERA partners and stakeholders. The candidate will build connections with ERA partners and beneficiaries to collect information on their achievements and success stories. The candidate will work closely with the communications team to assist in outreach activities implementation and managing directions of public information campaign. The candidate will draft news bullets, success stories and prepare a weekly digest of important news and analysis for the project and key stakeholders, with daily updates as needed. The candidate will be able to collect information and transform them into articles and success stories; analyze, report on data, presenting in charts and other appealing graphics as needed. Position is based in Kramatorsk.
Objectives and Duties:
• Work with communications and technical staff to identify possible personalities, MMSEs, communities, facts, stories worth capturing for ERA outreach objectives;
• Coordination with ERA experts and beneficiaries to receive info on progress, achievements and success stories.
• Work closely with communication team to assist with interviews for ERA success stories, news ads for social media, etc.
• Assist in development and implementation of multi-faceted information campaign; follow up on its progress, monitor and report on KPIs;
• Draft news bullets, ads for SMM, success stories and other publication materials.
• Daily monitor traditional and social media for information pertinent to ERA project activities.
• Create a weekly digest of news and information with daily updates as needed.
• Track down online reports and data on specific topics and perform analysis as needed.
• Maintain subscriptions to online and print media relevant to project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism/communication or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in similar assignment.
• Media and internet savvy; knowledge of how to search social media sites.
• Ability to use spreadsheets and other tools to analysis data, create charts and slide presentations.
• Experience with traditional and social media monitoring and subscription monitoring services a plus.
• Good writing and reporting skills; strong English, Russian and Ukrainian languages required.
• Candidates will be asked to create a writing sample during the interview process.
