DAI is seeking highly qualified candidates to occupy LTTA Communications Manager position to work on the recently awarded Promoting Integrity in the Public Sector Activity (Pro-Integrity), a $90 million, multiyear contract funded by USAID.
Project Background
The purpose of the Promoting Integrity in the Public Sector Activity (Pro-Integrity) is to reduce corruption incidence and risks to build back a better Ukraine. The Pro-Integrity Activity (also referred heretofore as the Activity) will work to achieve this purpose by addressing three independent objectives:
- Strengthen national level anti-corruption institutional capacity to advance corruption prevention, detection, and deterrence.
- Strengthen anti-corruption compliance and control in local governance.
- Advance transparency and accountability in resilience, recovery, and reconstruction efforts.
The Pro-Integrity Activity will pursue a problem-driven approach addressing the root causes through targeted objectives aligned with mission and U.S. government development strategy.
Position Description
The Communication Manager helps to implement Pro-Integrity communications programs and outreach activities, be it internal or external, that effectively describe and promote the project, its mission, and tasks. The role involves crafting compelling content, managing media relations, maintaining project consistency and the appropriate application of USAID branding, and marking guidelines in compliance with the project’s approved Branding and Marking Plan, coordinating communication project on the national and regional levels (as events, newsletters etc), fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. S/he will support the Communications Director in ensuring the quality of all project communications, deliverables and reporting.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises, support staff by developing different communication products (fact sheets, PPTs, case studies, progress reporting etc).
- Write, edit, and content production (newsletters, press statements, proposals, etc) and help to ensure its appropriate dissemination.
- Grow and maintain a network of media contacts; Devise and deliver press campaigns.
- Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices.
- Organize and plan online and in-person events that promote the broader goals of the project.
- Supervising projects to make sure all content is publication-ready and that it’s in line with the project guidelines.
- Help to ensure that program events and key successes are appropriately promoted.
- Help to monitor the progress of various communications strategies.
- Ensure that project communications products and promotional materials are branded consistently and correctly in compliance with USAID guidelines and the project’s Branding and Marking Plan.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, such as communications, marketing, or international relations required; master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant professional experience, including prior experience in communications, reporting, and/or knowledge management for USAID- or other international donor-funded programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communications and messaging plans, including experience developing content for social media platforms, plus experience developing and implementing knowledge management strategies and activities.
- Applied knowledge of USAID branding and marking guidelines strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication, analytical, and writing capacities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint, required; additional demonstrated proficiency in the use of graphic arts/design, data visualization, and/or other applications relevant for the development of communications products preferred.
- Fluency in Ukrainian with excellent oral and written communications skills required, plus professional proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English.
