The Embassy of Switzerland in Kyiv is looking for a
National Programme Officer for Communication
to support the International Cooperation and Humanitarian Programmes of the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyiv
Switzerland supports Ukraine with all the instruments of international and economic cooperation (IC), of humanitarian aid (HA). Moreover, since the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which took place in Lugano in July 2022 Switzerland is committed to a transparent and inclusive reconstruction process. Since 24.2.2022, it substantially increased its support to the country, particularly in the area of humanitarian aid, expanding its budget by a factor 10.
In order to strengthen its team in the field of institutional and operational communication, the Embassy is recruiting a National Program Officer to lead its communication activities in the whole spectrum of the Swiss financed activities based on four following lines of intervention: a. Peace, protection of the population, and democratic institutions; b. Sustainable urban development; c. SMEs and competitiveness; d. Health. The humanitarian work is aligned with the thematic priorities and projects are designed to complement each other to facilitate effective joint outcomes.
The new position aims at designing and implementing communication strategies, tools and products for various stakeholders, from the highest institutional level to the general public, to report on programmes, projects, initiatives and to position Switzerland in the donors’ landscape in Ukraine and abroad. Internal communication, in close coordination with Headquarters, is also an important component in order to keep communication synchronized for the Swiss domestic and Ukrainian stakeholders and feed the strategic communications with first hand and context sensitive information.
You are ready to navigate between different working cultures, to build bridges between communities and to picture with passion the work of our partners and ourselves. Storytelling is a second nature. Valuing emotions is at the heart of your communication style. Structuring a media campaign through various channels, including digital ones, is no secret for you. You have an holistic, imaginative, cross sector approach to communication, you move easily between the various approaches to communication of the International cooperation/humanitarian aid, private sector and politics, then you are the one to join our team and to contribute to its success and to make it known.
Profile
- University degree (Master’s level) or comparable education in communication, marketing, journalism or similar.
- Proven track record in communication campaign design and implementation in the field of international cooperation and/or humanitarian aid, ideally with an international organization or a large bilateral agency
- Track record in communication campaign design and implementation in other field such as politics, public policy, or private sector
- Agility to address different stakeholders group, simultaneously and through various channel
- Deep knowledge of the Ukrainian media landscape, in particular in the social media field.
- Experience in collaboration with the Ukrainian media
- Synthetic and strategic thinking in designing key messages
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player. Intercultural and inter-professional mindset.
- Working experience in one of the field of the intervention of Swiss cooperation is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills in Ukrainian and English, French or German would be an asset.
- Well-structured and well organized, highly flexible with ability to work under pressure
- High degree of personal integrity and trustworthiness
- Very good computer skills (word, outlook, power point, social media – web editing an asset)
