Program Assistant for Promoting Inclusion and Combating Discrimination
The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen democracy worldwide. NDI-Ukraine is currently seeking a staff member for its Program for Promoting Inclusion and Combating Discrimination of LGBTI Communities in Ukraine.
Job Title (s): Program Assistant, NDI Ukraine
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Rights, Political Science, Gender Studies, Public Administration, Linguistics, Social Sciences or a related subject.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills, and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a wide range of audiences.
- Proven capacity to meet program goals while performing financial and administrative responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to deal with multitasking.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to present clear and concise analysis.
- Strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English, both oral and written.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, G+, etc.).
- Self-organization and ability to priority tasks
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of NDI’s LGBTI inclusion program in Ukraine
- Contribute to the planning of various events within the program
- Provide substantial logistical and administrative support when organizing training programs, meetings, workshops, and other related events to promote human rights, equality, inclusion and non-discrimination
- Provide support during the training programs, workshops, working meetings (taking notes, organizing coffee breaks, etc)
- Organize work trips to different regions of Ukraine
- Communicate with vendors, prepare all supportive documents (agreements, invoices, acts of completion) in close cooperation with the administrative team
- Provide oral interpretation and written translation as required
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
