Position Summary

Momentum Wheels for Humanity is seeking an Objective 3 Lead, for a 5-year Rehabilitation for Ukraine Activity (USAID Rehub4U). The goal of USAID Rehub4U is to create sustainable and fully integrated rehabilitation services within the Ukrainian health system across all levels of care.

Objective 3 Lead will provide leadership and conceptual guidance for the strategy and implementation of the objective 3 component: “promote inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities and civilian victims of war within their families, communities, and in the economic recovery of the country”, and ensures close coordination and alignment with the National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities and Project Hope.

Applicants must be willing and able to work in Kyiv, Ukraine. This is full-time position.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities  

The Objective 3 Lead for Rehub4U will provide strategic leadership and guidance to promote the inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities and civilian victims of war within their families, communities, and in the economic recovery of the country

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies under Objective 3.
  • Coordinate with NAPD, Project Hope, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Oversee the implementation of activities to engage persons with disabilities in policy-making processes, build the capacity of local NGOs/CSOs/DPOs, and conduct awareness-raising campaigns.
  • Advocate for inclusive rehabilitation policies and practices to reduce stigma against persons with disabilities.
  • Provide inputs in the implementation of comprehensive communication strategies for awareness-raising campaigns.
  • Facilitate micro-grant distribution and capacity-building support to local DPOs for community service provision.
  • Identify and apply approaches to promote peer support and peer outreach for persons with disabilities.
  • Promote the active representation of persons with disabilities and their families in the development of services, decision-making processes, and policy discussions.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce stigma and discrimination against persons with disabilities within communities.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all activities under Objective 3, including documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
  • Represent the project at relevant meetings, conferences, and forums to promote the project’s objectives and build strategic partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree in social work, community development, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience..
  • Strong project management and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with capacity-building initiatives for NGOs/CSOs/DPOs.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Ukrainian
