Pact Inc. is implementing a USAID-funded project Public Health System Recovery and Resilience Activity. The primary goal of PHS R&R is to strengthen the Government of Ukraine (GoU)’s capacity to prevent, detect and respond to public health threats, sustain critical public health services during a crisis, and protect the health of all Ukrainians including vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Background
Pact seeks a consultant to engage in the establishment of a professional association in the field of public health as well as to provide mentoring support to communities in developing community-based initiatives.
Objectives
- Provide mentoring support to communities in developing community-based initiatives.
- Engage in the process of establishing a professional association in the field of public health.
Duties and Responsibilities (Tasks)
- In coordination with the Community Health Unit, the consultant will provide mentoring support to communities in developing community-based initiatives on the outstanding public health issues.
- In coordination with the Public Health Unit, the consultant will engage in the establishment of a professional association in the field of public health.
Period of performance: June-September 2023 (no more than 10 days per month)
Deliverables
- Local communities received support from the consultant on the initiatives to address outstanding public health issues
- The Public Health Unit of the PSH R&R is supported by the consultant in the process of establishing a professional association in the field of public health
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university in medicine, public health, human resources, social work or a related field is required.
- At least five years of experience in public health.
- Broad understanding of capacity building activities on community level.
- Ability to collaborate well with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and work with and between different stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and consensus building.
