The UNV Regional Office Europe and CIS (ROECIS) based in Istanbul provides oversight and strategic guidance to the UNV Field Units and presences in their respective geographical assignments and are mainly accountable for the placement of UN Volunteers mobilized for UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes focused on peace, development and humanitarian needs.
Furthermore, the ROECIS represents, and strategically position, UNV and bring UNV’s services and solutions closer to its partners from governments, UN entities, civil society and private sector. ROECIS also leads in scoping and delivering UNV’s advisory service offer on volunteer infrastructure. Assignment context Reporting to the Manager, Regional Office, and with the technical guidance and supervision of the UNV Programme Analyst, the Partnership and Mobilization Officer provides support to the Regional Office, with specific focus on outreach leading to increased mobilization and placement of UN Volunteers and supports advocacy efforts and position of UNV in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia in line with UNV’s Strategic Framework 2022−2025. In addition, the UNV Partnership and Mobilization Officer takes on operational tasks in the management of the UN Volunteer.
Requirements for candidates:
- 3 years of experience at the national and/or international level in management and office support, or other relevant programmes;
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organisation is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a civil society setting and/or as a volunteer with volunteer management and/or promotion of volunteerism is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively across a range of themes and with a diverse group of people.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.), web-based platforms and others.
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, international development, project management, public/business administration, or related field.
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
