Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) Program in Ukraine

Project Summary:Â
The Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) Program in Ukraine is a five-year USAID initiative with the objective to assist Ukraine to reduce corruption and increase the accountability and transparency of governance. The program seeks to empower key government institutions to fight corruption, build public support for and engagement in anticorruption effort, and reduce citizen tolerance to corruption.Â

Position Summary:Â
MSI is seeking a full-time Program Assistant to support the SACCI program in Ukraine. S/he will be responsible for a timely provision of program support (analytical, research and content drafting) to all program activities. The Program Assistant will ensure coordination and effective sharing of information and resources in-between all program branches.
S/he will work cooperatively with project staff, short-term associates and partner organizations to contribute to the overall success of SACCI program.
The Program Assistant will report directly to the Chief of Party (COP) and work closely with the entire SACCI team to plan, coordinate and track program support services and activities.
Responsibilities:
Analytical work and knowledge management
- Search and analyze data from online and offline sources and produce summary information pieces on themes specified by the SACCI COP, DCOP, M&E focal point and Team Leads
- Monitor (daily) the progress on / news regarding international and national commitments of Ukraine in the field of anti-corruption. This includes but is not limited to processes under GRECO, OECD ACN, UNODC, and developments in Ukrainian legislation
- Produce memoranda, fact-sheets, talking points, briefs, information bullets and other analytical materials to support the activities of SACCI and as requested by USAID
- Assist the SACCI team in preparing the quarterly / annual report and the political economy analysis (PEA) as appropriate
- Manage the SACCI program knowledge database and serve as the institutional memory of the project regarding locating information already produced. Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and management
Partner relations and grants
- Assist SACCI with building and maintaining rapport with national and regional partners and grantees
- Upon request, initiate and engage in field visits / site visits to SACCI partners and grantees to gather material for reporting, publicity and promotional activities
- At the stage of grant development, assist with grantee negotiations; participate, as requested, in grant selection procedures and collecting additional information necessary for the final decision-making process
Contribution to public events
- Assist in designing presentations, speeches and talks and conduct other preparatory work for public events and engagements of SACCI team on the programmatic side
- Assist the DCOP in managing the SACCI Solutions Hub, which may include but is not limited to pre-selection of ideas / themes for processing, connecting to national and international subject-matter experts, summarizing ideas discussed in the Hub
- Assist program staff by designing and organizing events, conferences, round-tables and meetings and design drafts of knowledge products as a result of these events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law or other relevant social sciences field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in producing versatile analytical materials, working with state and non-governmental partners and assisting with organization of public events in Ukraine.
- Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Prior experience with USAID-funded projects or other international technical assistance projects is preferred.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian; English language knowledge at an advanced level required.
