Project Manager Localisation / Проєктний/а менеджер/ка
ЗАВЕРШЕНО
Duty Station: Kharkiv / Kyiv
Background
HELVETAS is the largest Swiss nongovernmental organization with a dual mandate for long-term development and humanitarian response. It has been present in Ukraine for several year implementing development projects mainly through local partners.
During 2022 HELVETAS initiated emergency assistance. Currently we are building our operational presence to deliver comprehensive response to the current humanitarian crisis. HELVETAS plan to be active in Ukraine for next 5 years.
Since the escalation of the conflict, significant humanitarian assistance has been provided by thousands of civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs) and volunteer groups who dispose of good access to hard-to-reach locations and the ability to deliver contextually relevant assistance based on needs. Whilst some of these organizations are newly registered organizations, others are well-established development organizations which shifted their mandate towards relief work and are facing rapid growth. Despite their remarkable work, their acknowledgement in the response continues to remain limited due to a lack of adequate funding mechanisms, lack of sufficiently contextualised mechanisms within international humanitarian system, such as interagency coordination structures, as well as lack of specific technical competences.
