Project Officer / Проєктний/а фахівець/чиня

International Charitable Foundation “AIDS Foundation East-West” (AFEW-Ukraine) is seeking applications for the position of Project Officer for the USAID-funded project Community Action for HIV Control.  The goal of five-year project is to accelerate Ukraine’s effort to achieve epidemic control by 2030 through improved prevention, testing, and linkage to care among key and priority populations.

Job Description:

The Project Officer will be a part of the project team of three consortium members PACT, FHI 320 and AFEW-Ukraine.  The Officer will support the management and execution of the program, compile and analyze information relevant to the programs and provide administrative and project support in addition to communication efforts related to program management and execution.

Specific Duties:

  • Works closely with project partners and Key Populations targeted by the project (People Who Use Drugs, Sex Workers, Exp-prisoners, MSM) on design  and implementation of  project  activities;
  • Actively participates in revision and preparation of project plans and reports;
  • Coordinates training activities, informational materials development  and other relevant activities envisaged in the project plan;
  • Maintains communication with partner organizations and represent the project in working groups on request of the project team;
  • Conducts data collection and analysis as envisaged by the project;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • University or higher vocational training. Public health, sociology, psychology, legal or related background is desirable;
  • Minimum 2 years work experience with civil society organizations, governmental or other organizations in the field relevant to the position requirements; 
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of HIV/AIDS, human rights, public health and related issues;
  • Skills of data collection and analysis, work with databases is a plus;
  • Proficiency in English and Ukrainian;
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different organizations and cultures.

Personal Skills / Additional Information:

  • Ability to manage and complete numerous tasks with a high degree of organization;
  • Good writing and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills with a focus on all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Outlook);
  • Ability to travel to project regions if necessary.
