Contract Duration: 7 months, with possible extension.
Background
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is the main UN agency in the fight against illicit drugs, crime, corruption and terrorism in virtue of the UN Conventions and Universal Instruments in this regard. The UNODC Regional Programme Office for Eastern Europe is located in Kyiv (Ukraine) and covers three countries of the region: Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. Under its Strategic Partnership and Programmatic Actions in Eastern Europe for 2017−2023, UNODC is delivering technical assistance to Eastern European countries under the following components: (1) countering transnational organized crime; (2) a comprehensive response to the drug problem (drug trafficking & drugs and health); (3) criminal justice and crime prevention. Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of the Office, the Project Associate provides support to office operations performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Project Associate promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach.The Project Associate works in close collaboration with the Operations, Programme and projects staff in the UNODC CO and other UN agencies staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Summary of Key Functions:
- Implementation of operational strategies in accordance with the practices of UNODC Global programmes management;
- Support to human resources services within the on-going UNODC programmes;
- Support to administrative and logistical services in cooperation with and compliant with two UNODC global programmes requirements;
- Support to finance services within the on-going UNODC programmes;
- Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
Ensures implementation of operational strategies, focusing on achievement of the following results.

Ensures effective financial support to office, focusing on achievement of the following results.
Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO, focusing on achievement of the following results.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Management, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Social Sciences or any related area.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in administration, programme and/or operations support service or related field;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
- Experience in handling of web-based management systems;
- Working experience in UN agencies would be a strong advantage;
- Knowledge of UN administrative SOPs is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
