Job Summary 

The Protection Information Management Assistant will support processes to safely and ethically collect, process, analyze, store, share, and use data and information to enable evidence-based action for quality protection outcomes. They will be responsible for supporting partners to track and report on services, coordinate training and activities between stakeholders, and share information back to partners and communities. Position is based in Chernihiv, Ukraine.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

Data Management

  • Organize and manage data input from data collection forms collected from protection field staff.
  • Support collection and compilation of quantitative and qualitative data to related to GC’s Protection program, covering all program outcome areas and indicators. 
  • Support Protection staff in analyzing and interpreting M&E data, generate findings and recommendations.
  • Proactively review data for inconsistencies, errors, outliers etc. and seek to reduce data submission errors through effective feedback and input and training of Protection field staff. 
  • Ensure accurate and consistent entry of data received from field staff.
  • Immediately identify and report any problems or challenges to program implementation; seek to resolve problems at the local level while keeping management informed. 

Reporting

  • Work closely with Protection team to complete the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and final programmatic reports, in accordance with GC reporting guidelines and formats. 
  • Support in monthly 4Ws reporting, including compilation and analysis of data to report on 4Ws indicators. 
  • Review all the received reports (i.e., field staff, M&E, TPM reports). 

Program Support

  • Assist in the development of SOPs to guide the interaction between GC’s Protection and M&E departments and subsequently ensure its implementation. 
  • Support in developing advocacy materials such as posters, presentations. 
  • Provide support to protection team in terms of:  
  • Updating program (centers) activities plans, 
  • Submission of weekly movement plans, and  
  • Submission of PRs and following up with operation department.
  • In coordination with Protection and M&E staff, support the implementation of program-wide surveys or assessments. 
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of project events (technical workshops, meetings, training sessions, project review meetings, etc). 
  • Translate work documents from English to Arabic and vice versa. 
  • Any other task assigned by the line manager.

Working Relationship 

This position reports to the Protection Technical Advisor and works within a team of a total of six (6) individuals. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Demonstrable experience working in Protection programs and managing Protection-related information (GBV & CP), preferably in an M&E capacity. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, statistics, International Development, Economics, Computer Science with 3 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in Information Management, statistics, International Development, Economics, Computer Science with 2 years of relevant experience 
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in MS Office, including creating tables and forms, trend analysis, using pivot tables, and charting/visualizing data etc. 
  • Experience in designing and managing beneficiary monitoring and database systems. 
  • Experience in Protection programming principles and mainstreaming, including track record experience applying safety and confidentiality is an asset.
  • Previous working experience in humanitarian programming.
  • Experience in planning and managing Protection related assessments and data collection exercises. 
  • Experience in capacity building of staff and partners.
  • Ability to handle disclosures in a confidential manner during field visits.
  • Experience in developing data collection and data management tools.
  • Proven skills to analyze statistical and qualitative data.
  • Fluent in English; Ukrainian language skills a plus. 
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong organization skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow work plans.
  • Integrity, transparency, and strong work ethics.
