PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Handicap International “HI” (operating as Humanity & Inclusion) is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.
HI is currently opening a multi-sectoral life-saving assistance to displaced and non-displaced populations in Ukraine such as : Protection, shelter, health, NFIs, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation, hygiene, and education and strengthening and supporting access to mental health and psychosocial support; provision of basic and domestic items including food, unrestricted cash assistance, and core relief items.

General Mission
Under the responsibility of the Mental Health and Psycho-social Support Projects Officer, psychologist or PSS worker will be responsible for the MHPSS activities implemented by HI. He/She must keep all the data confidential, and share it only with the designated persons
2- Missions
Identification and assessment of needs
- Conducting household surveys and assessments of people in distress, with mental health problems or disabilities.
- Conduct awareness-raising activities as needed.
- Assess all PSS issues at individual and family level.
- Referral to appropriate internal/external services.
- Continue to monitor referred cases for status.
Offer (MH)PSS activities
- Respond to identified needs by providing MHPSS activities in MHPSS mobile teams.
- Organise and facilitate support groups for the development of psychosocial skills.
- With the support of the MHPSS officer, define the objectives of the group sessions; develop the activities with the participants concerned.
- Conducting different psychosocial group activities, adapted and appropriate to the specific needs and abilities of each individual.
- Provide psychological first aid when necessary.
- Provide training and awareness-raising sessions for community members and leaders in collaboration with MC to strengthen their skills and knowledge of coping mechanisms.
- Participate in various training courses and meetings.
- Attend weekly supervision with the MHPSS team.
Monitoring and reporting
- Provide data on PSS activities, follow up on individual, group and community cases. Organise daily and weekly activities.
- Contributes to the regular reporting of the technical activities of its perimeter in connection with SMSPS technical officer and
- Communication and collaboration with community leaders, local authorities, youth and women’s groups or organisations and other NGO partners.
Contributes to ensuring HI’s technical influence within its scope
- Contributes to the influence of HI expertise: can represent HI MHPSS technical expertise in relevant local networks and with local partners. Support the coordination of MHPSS service delivery with earthquake affected communities.
- Identify relevant opportunities, allies and entry points at sectoral, cross-sectoral, national and local levels (humanitarian coordination mechanisms, government/state actors, civil society actors, etc.) to promote reliable, useful and supportive MHPSS strategies, programmes and data systems.

4-Commitments

- Report all relevant security information to the project security manager and inform immediately of security incidents involving our organisation;
- Attendance / Punctuality ;
- Availability: the technician may be required to travel outside his/her place of residence for extended periods of time, or to carry out activities or assignments during weekends and public holidays;
- Total discretion regarding the functioning of the organisation and its members;
The tasks and responsibilities of the physiotherapist described in this job profile are not exhaustive and may change according to the needs of the project.

6- FHI/DAU equipment
The employee is responsible for the equipment entrusted to him/her for the performance of his/her duties and may only use it for strictly professional purposes.
Salary: As per HI salary scale
Duration of Contract: 2 months with possibility of renewal
