Письменник/Редактор/ Writer/Editor (short-term consultancy)

Deloitte is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a short-term Writer/Editor in the communication department of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The position is supported by the USAID Health Reform Support Project (HRS).
Period of Performance: September 1, 2021 – October 1, 2021
Level of Effort: full-time
1. Project Background and Summary:
The purpose of USAID Health Reform Support is to support a transparent, accountable, and effective health care system that is capable of meeting the health needs of the Ukrainian people. Advancing health sector reforms, enhancing transparency, and tackling corruption will reduce out-of-pocket payments and improve access and availability of high quality, evidence-based health care services for Ukrainians. Elimination of corruption is a cross-cutting theme across all objectives to be achieved by this activity, which include:
- Improve health sector governance.
- Support the transformation of the healthcare financing model.
- Strengthen the health workforce.
- Enhance transparency, accountability and responsiveness of the health care system.
- Improve service delivery system at all levels.
2. Objective:
The Writer/Editor will support the communication team of the Ministry of Health in its day-to-day activities.
3. Tasks:
- writing, rewriting and editing information materials of various formats: press releases, announcements, posts on social networks, articles, analytical materials, explanations, etc;
- preparation of key theses for speakers;
- creating scripts for audio and video materials;
- writing materials based on interviews;
- conducting interviews;
- publication of materials on the site and in social networks.
4. Qualification requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
- experience in PR sphere as a writer or experience as a journalist;
- proficient knowledge of Ukrainian language;
- working knowledge of English (at least Intermediate level) to work with English-language sources;
- analytical skills and critical thinking to analyze information, including regulations, statistics, research, and documents in the medical field;
- ability to write clearly and intelligibly, to “translate” the language of legislation, medical research, and procedures into simple journalistic language;
- experience in healthcare will be an advantage.
