Alinea International is recruiting an experienced (Senior Coordinator) to work with the team of the PROTECT2 project implemented by Alinea International in Ukraine and funded by the Military Training and Cooperation Program of the Canadian Department of National Defence. The General Coordinator will oversee the formation and development of a civil society organization (CSO) committed to professional growth, mentorship, support, and knowledge exchange for Ukrainian women in the defense field.
Based in Kyiv, the Senior Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the WID Director and will closely cooperate with the CSO’s board and members. The overall purpose is to build sustainable organizational capacity by responding to identified gaps and needs in the development process (such as members’ records, financial and other reporting, and implementation of decision), engaging new members and partners, and delivering a series of tailored events.
About the Project. The Promoting Reform Objectives through Technical Expertise and Capacity Transfer Phase 2 (PROTECT2) is an international technical assistance project, which offers short-term expert (Ukrainian and international) deployment and capacity to strengthening defense sector of Ukraine. The project responds to the needs of Ukraine’s defence institutions and agencies and focuses on building strong analytical approaches in gender equality; women peace and security (WPS); social inclusion; defence governance and planning, capabilities development and resource management in defence. To support the delivery of outlined scope of work, PROTECT2 is looking for the Project Assistant (PA), who will ensure the professional day-to-day project support.
Key Responsibilities
Operational and financial management
- Ensure that the CSO’s organizational structure, operational policies, Social Media Marketing, and other business processes are sound and able to deliver on the strategic objectives defined by the Charter effectively.
- Ensure the CSO’s financial and administrative operations are efficient, effective and transparent, including financial accounting and compliant tax reporting.
- Forge and maintain clear and effective communication channels among the board, members, and organizational partners.
- Coordinate General Assembly meetings by collaborating with the Chair of the Board in agenda development, facility arrangement, minute-taking, and communicating the outcomes to the members.
- Develop comprehensive event plans, outlining the objectives, logistics, and resources required for each event (mentorship sessions, workshops, training, conferences, etc.), ensuring their successful execution and alignment with the organization’s goals and member needs.
- Strategy development for funding and resource mobilization, membership development.
- Drive strategic development by planning and monitoring, actively engaging members of the organization to contribute ideas and participate in WID’s activities. Develop a step-by-step action plan for the organization to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Implement a strategic approach to recruit new members for the organization, employing targeted outreach and engagement strategies to attract diverse individuals who align with the organization’s mission and values.
- In coordination with the Board and the Chair of the Board, lead fundraising initiatives and develop strategic partnerships, enhancing the organization’s resource base and expanding its impact through collaborative efforts and external support.
Coordination and representation
- Ensure seamless coordination among the managerial bodies of the organization and maintain effective communication with them.
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
Mandatory:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, management, or development studies.
- Previous experience in a managerial capacity within a non-profit or civil society organization.
- Proficiency in Ukrainian and English.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, financial management, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management and stakeholder engagement.
