Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and under the direct supervision of the Emergency and Stabilization Coordinator (Eastern Area of Ukraine), the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of IOM Ukraine’s Livelihoods efforts in Donetsk NGCA.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Support the Emergency and Stabilization Coordinator (Eastern Area of Ukraine) in the overall planning, implementation and monitoring of Livelihoods efforts.
- Assist in the coordination of IOM’s Livelihoods efforts within the context of the relevant sectors.
- Liaise with partner NGOs as well as with relevant national and local working-level government contacts, as necessary.
- Contribute to the contracting of partner NGOs and assist in the procurement of goods and services.
- Provide information gathering and management support to Livelihoods programming.
- Track relevant national and local developments pertaining to Livelihoods, and analyse, summarize and present findings.
- Organize and/or take part in Livelihoods-related events (meetings, presentations, discussions, visits, etc.).
- Provide inputs and recommend improvements to the planning and delivery of programme activities.
- Undertake duty travel within Ukraine pertinent to Livelihoods programming on an as-needed basis.
- Support the mapping of Livelihoods needs and beneficiaries.
- Work together with in-house monitoring and evaluation team to devise and implement a monitoring system for Livelihoods efforts.
- Contribute to regular reporting (IOM internal, IOM external, UN-related, including 3W/4W and situation reporting), correspondence, publication and presentation materials.
- Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
High school diploma or equivalent with at least six years of relevant work experience
OR
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in scientific disciplines, public administration, political science, economics, or law) from an accredited academic institution and at least four years of responsible work experience
Experience
- Project development and implementation experience is an asset.
- Proven drafting, writing, and reporting skills, confident user of the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience working with authorities and civil society;
- Knowledge of livelihoods activities and context is advantageous
- Experience in working with vulnerable populations;
- Knowledge of the socio-political and geographical context of the NGCA.
Languages
Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
