Спеціаліст із захисту \ Technical Officer Child Protection

International organization on child protection and health care Terre des hommes (Tdh) is seeking for Technical Officer Child Protection.

Location: Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast

Position Type: Full-time

Duration of the project: six months (April – September 2016), with possible extension

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Personnel management / team management

• Ensures implementation of the Tdh policies together with technical team
• Exchanges information with his/her line manager on a regular basis and assist with circulating information following normal communication channels
• Defines intervention methods according to the specified project objectives together with field officers and field mentors
• Contributes into conditions beneficial for a good flow of operational information delegation-field-delegation (verbal exchanges, emails, sitreps, reports, etc.)
• Takes part in the delegation’s coordination meetings and field office meetings

• Ensures continuous capacity building of local stakeholders and on-site implementation of training materials, methodologies etc. by the local stakeholders in child protection in the project area.
• Provides technical expertise and support to local partners throughout the stages of case management
• Supports and validates the quality of the work performed by local actors, in accordance with the national and international standards.
• Participates in policy development related to prevention of abuse, neglect and exploitation of children, child protection system and case management at the local and national levels, under the direct supervision of Project Coordinator

 Budget management and administration/logistics

• Draws up the budget for the action plan
• Adheres to current budget guidelines and the budget, and ensure they are followed
• With the Project Coordinator, and the program members, reviews the monthly Budget vs. Actual reports in order to orient future budgetary expenditures and allocations
• Actively participates in the identification of funding opportunities to support the needs of the Project interventions and seek additional funds to ensure the continuity of the project
• Carries out all the administrative activities relevant to his/her mission
• Respect and ensure compliance with the regulations, administrative procedures, and logistics of the delegation in Ukraine, Foundation and the governmental requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Management, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Law, Pedagogy, Psychology or other relevant field.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in child protection.
• Working experience in preparation or management of the projects in social or governance field is beneficiary.
• Working experience in capacity building.
• Willing to travel frequently (Donetsk oblast) and adapt to difficult working conditions.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian is required, English is plus.
