Communication Officer
East Europe Foundation is looking for a candidate: Communication Officer (full-time position) for USAID RADA Program, which aims to promote a representative, accountable and independent parliament – the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Communication Officer’s responsibilities:
Under direction of Chef of Party (COP) of USAID Rada Program, the Communication Officer responsibilities will include the following:
- Under the supervision of EEF Communication Manager develops and coordinates implementation of the monthly communication plan covering all public events including Program partners’ events;
- Drafts and edits documents in support of the program including: promotional/background materials, social media posts, project reports, success stories, other Program communication products such as Program digest, Program update, etc. in both English and Ukrainian; ensures compliance of produced materials with USAID marking and branding requirements;
- Maintains Rada Program external outreach platforms, including Program web-site, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts;
- Organizes and updating Rada program multimedia files—photographs, videos, printed materials—as well as stakeholder contact information;
- Identifies and collaborates with vendors such as photographers, video producers, graphic designers, printers, etc. to ensure high-quality products that meet Rada program needs;
- Maintains and provides guidance on communication to implementing partners; collects and drafts outreach and communication materials related to the Program;
- Develops and maintains good relationships with media, etc. Maintains media data base, invites media to Program events, etc. Writes and submit for approval press-materials (announces, releases, etc.);
- Translates written documents and provides verbal interpretation for staff as required;
- Assists with logistical preparation and implementation of program activities such as conferences and trainings;
- Performs other activities as assigned by the Program management
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject;
- Previous experience working with a development project, NGO or International Organization;
- Prior experience organizing events and logistics;
- Knowledge of political issues and elections preferred;
- Excellent written and oral Ukrainian, Russian, and English languages;
- Experience in managing databases, social media sites, SMM;
- Skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing;
- Detail-oriented and highly organized;
- Collaborative, team-oriented individual;
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines;
- Advanced computer skills
