Deloitte is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Trainers for Communication, Advocacy, Fundraising, and Leadership Trainings to support the USAID Health Reform Support. The position will be part-time with the duty station in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Period of performance: May 5, 2021 – September 30, 2021

Level of Effort:     

  • for Communications Trainer – up to 195 hours
  • for Advocacy Trainer – up to 70 hours
  • for Fundraising Trainer – up to 70 hours
  • for Leadership Trainer – up to 45 hours

 Project Background and Summary:

The purpose of the USAID Health Reform Support is to support a transparent, accountable, and effective health care system that is capable of meeting the health needs of people in Ukraine Advancing health sector reforms, enhancing transparency, and tackling corruption will reduce out-of-pocket payments and improve access and availability of high-quality, evidence-based health care services for Ukrainians. Elimination of corruption is a cross-cutting theme across all objectives to be achieved by this activity, which includes:

  1. Improve health sector governance.
  2. Support the transformation of the healthcare financing model.
  3. Strengthen the health workforce.
  4. Enhance transparency, accountability, and responsiveness of the health care system.
  5. Improve the service delivery system at all levels.

Objective

The Trainers will deliver Communications, Advocacy, Fundraising, and Leadership trainings for Civil Society Organizations.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Trainers will be as follows:

Communications trainer/mentor: 

  1. Developing and delivering up to five online trainings with up to 20 participants each. It includes:
  • evaluating participants’ communications capacity
  • developing the curriculum/content of the training that should include but is not limited to the following components:
  • types of communication channels
  • target audience identification and segmentation
  • development of messages
  • development of a communication campaign with KPIs
  • practical tasks for participants on developing communication campaigns and messages
  • presentation and evaluation of the outcomes of practical tasks
  • conducting pre/post-training evaluation

2.Providing mentor support to up to 10 selected CSOs on communication campaign development and implementation

3.Selecting three most effective campaigns

4.Providing consultations for up to three CSOs on designing a communications strategy (during a month).

Advocacy trainer:

  1. Developing and delivering up to five online trainings with up to 20 participants each. It includes:
  • developing the content of the training that should include but is not limited to the following components:
  • advocacy and lobbying definition
  • stakeholder analysis and mapping
  • advocacy strategy (key components, objectives, tasks, KPIs)
  • practical tasks for participants on developing advocacy strategy/stakeholder mapping
  • presentations and evaluation of the outcomes of practical tasks
  • conducting pre/post-training evaluation

        2. Providing consultations for up to three CSOs on designing an advocacy strategy (during a month).

Fundraising trainer:

  1. Developing and delivering up to five online trainings with up to 20 participants each. It includes:
  • donor mapping
  • developing the content of the training that should include but is not limited to the following components:
  • different types of fundraising (crowdfunding, events, working with socially responsible companies)
  • donor map review
  • key steps in preparing a grant application
  • key steps in preparing a project concept
  • practical tasks for participants on developing a project concept or grant application
  • presentations and evaluation of the outcomes of practical tasks
  • conducting pre/post-training evaluation

 2. Providing consultations for up to three CSOs on developing a project concept or grant application  (during a month).

Leadership trainer:

  1. Developing and delivering up to five online trainings with up to 20 participants each. It includes:
  • developing the content of the training that should include but is not limited to the following components:
  • types of leadership
  • how to develop leadership skills
  • leaders’ identification and working with partners
  • practical tasks
  • presentations and evaluation of the outcomes of practical tasks
  • conducting pre/post-training evaluation

Qualification requirements for the candidates:

  • No less than three years of proven work experience as trainers in Communications, Advocacy, Fundraising, Leadership
  • Work experience with regard to Civil Society Organizations
  • Experience in a politically-sensitive and fast-changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills
  • Understanding the health system reform in Ukraine will be an asset
  • Reform communication support experience will be an asset
