Вакансія: Accounting Financial Specialist

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the Country Office to fill the position of the:

 Accounting Financial Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

(internal SAP code: Accounting Specialist)

 In its role as a highly effective implementing organisation, GIZ is already supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts. The focus is on building municipal and social infrastructure, ensuring reliable energy supplies and strengthening the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, GIZ is supporting the country on its path towards EU accession. It provides advice on necessary reforms and drives the modernisation of public administration. Its decades-long record of cooperation and a network spanning the entire country mean that GIZ is well placed to offer tailored support that is both forward-looking and responsive to citizens’ needs. Around 560 staff work for GIZ in Ukraine, in about 45 projects. The total volume of commissions amounts to some EUR 625 million.

 Key responsibilities include inter alia:

• Financial management and advisory services for GIZ Projects in Ukraine;
• Accounting for GIZ projects using the accounting software WINPACCS and ensuring compliance with the GIZ rules in project management;
• Annual/monthly financial planning, monitoring and accounting for GIZ Projects in Ukraine;

• Conducting payments via Internet banking and cash payments;
• Support in preparing reports from SAP.

• Ensuring good communication and flow of information within the GIZ country office and with the projects;
• Verification of invoices in accordance with internal rules and procedures;
• Coordination of processes for monthly budgeting, monitoring and financing of projects;
• Effectively coordinating with the staff of the finance team in Country office or the relevant department at GIZ Head Office;
• Conducting internal controls (audits) for GIZ Projects in Ukraine; 
• Support in preparing reports from SAP.

 Required qualifications, competences and experience:

• University degree in accounting and finance (equivalent of BA or MBA) or similar degree;
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position;
• Native written and spoken Ukrainian; excellent command of the English language; knowledge of German is a strong asset;
• In-depth knowledge of accounting software;
• Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
• Confidential treatment of data and information;
• Reliability, flexibility and stress resistance, high loyalty, high self-discipline, team player.

Employment conditions

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. The contract duration is 1 year. Prolongation is possible. Starting as soon as possible.
