Financial Specialist (Kyiv, full time)

Area of responsibilities:
The Financial Specialist
- Processes monitoring requests (planning and actual data);
- Coordinates with team, GIZ Country Office, Finance Adviser on head quarter and other projects worldwide finance and accounting monitoring processes;
- Obtains invoice copies with Winpaccs Accounting voucher numbers after booking in Country Office, head quarter or other places, checks processing of payments in project, Country office and Headquarter;
- Checks and completes voucher classification according to Budget lines BMZ, EU and COMP- requirements;
- Monitoring and processing of receivables and other open items;
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports and contributing to the preparation and implementation of internal and external audits;
- Formal and mathematical checking of invoices and payment requests;
- Obtaining confirmation of delivery of services and goods by project technical staff and Project Directors;
- Ensures smooth communication and cooperation with other finance and procurement specialists of the Service Unit, technical staff of the Project and GIZ Ukraine Country Office;
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
Requirements:
- University degree, desirable BA/MA in accounting, economics or similar area;
- At least 3 year’s professional experience in a comparable position is desirable;
- Experienced in the application of MS SharePoint lists and Power BI;
- Keen on details within pre-checking of financial reports and statements;
- Ability to work under pressure, reliability and flexibility;
- Good knowledge of Ukrainian legislation and accounting requirements;
- Fluent written and oral knowledge of English and Ukrainian, knowledge of German would be an advantage;
- Excellent working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications, particularly EXCEL, MS SharePoint, Power BI and other MS Office applications;
- Experienced to work in an international team; working experience with EU funded projects would be an asset;
- Good self-organization skills;
- Customer and service-oriented attitude;
- Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed.

Employment conditions
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. The contract duration is till 30 April 2025.
