The Financial Sector Reform Activity (FSR) in Ukraine is a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and managed by DAI Global LLC (DAI). The purpose of the activity is to transform the country’s financial sector into a sophisticated, well-functioning, competitive market that is aligned with European Union (EU) standards and integrated into international financial systems. This transformation will mobilize private finance for sustained economic growth in Ukraine.
The FSR is looking for candidates to fill in the FINANCIAL SECTOR EXPERT position, STTA.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Financial Sector Expert will monitor and analyze financial sector information and developments. S/he will organize and report this information in a weekly newsletter (2 pages) on the financial industry.
The STTA consultant will also support FSR with economic research and preparation of materials for the upcoming Equity conference.
OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:
- Monitor and report on governmental sources of information (NBU, MinFin, MinEcon, others) on the financial system and report on meaningful developments.
- Monitor and report on financial system information from other reliable news sources (IFIs, donors, business associations, think tanks).
- Conduct a more in-depth analysis of the news event if it has major significance for the financial system.
- Prepare an analysis of interest rates (annual total cost of loan for the consumer) for short-term, high-cost micro loans.
- Develop infographics for the Equity Conference.
- Draft White Paper on Ukrainian state agencies involved in investment, development finance, trade, and credit generally (e.g., ECA, BDF, Advantage Ukraine, PCGF, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Economics, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience working as a financial sector expert.
- Knowledge of mathematical statistics, financial modeling, dynamic programming, data-mining, non-linear trend analysis, and relevant software packages is required.
- Native speaker spoken and written fluency in English and Ukrainian is a must.
