Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the Country Office to fill the position of the:
Junior Accounting Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Key responsibilities include inter alia:
- Conduct Cash desk transactions according to the GIZ Procedures and Rules (main responsibility).
- End of month/ end of year cash desk closing at the basis of the GIZ Procedures and Rules.
- Posting of internet bank payment and cash transaction in the Software Bank Book.
- Invoice checking in accordance with the GIZ Procedures and Rules.
- Conducting internet banking payments.
- Assist in filing the accounting documents.
- Ensuring good communication and information flow both within the GIZ country office and with the projects.
- Effectively coordinating with the Country office’s finance team or relevant department at GIZ HQ.
- Archiving of invoices, recording contractual obligations (work with commitment).
- Support in preparing processes for audits and internal control.
- Provide administrative support for IDA finance unit page.
Required qualifications, competences and experience:
- University degree in accounting and finance or similar degree.
- At least 2 years of professional experience as junior accountant.
- Native written and spoken Ukrainian; excellent command of English; knowledge of German is a strong asset.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
- Confidential treatment of data and information.
- Reliability, flexibility, high loyalty, high self-discipline, team player.

Employment conditions
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. The contract duration is 1 year. Prolongation is possible. Starting as soon as possible.
