Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for a qualified professional for the project “Special Assistance Program in Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions” to fill the position of a
Project Assistant (full-time, remote mode with future duty station in Dnipro)

The project is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union and implemented by GIZ. It supports communities particularly in the Regions Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, Donetsk and Luhansk (GCA) in improving the quality and the access to social, medical and administrative services on a local level, in particular with respect to vulnerable population groups. For that purpose, the project will coordinate and cooperate with a broad range of local/national and international partners and stakeholders.
Areas of responsibilities:
- ensuring that the administrative processes run smoothly;
- ensuring good communication and flow of information within the project, the cluster office(s) and with the GIZ office, supporting incoming and outgoing correspondence;
- filing and updating documents in reference files or in DMS in line with GIZ’s filing rules;
- assisting the project advisors/coordinators in their administrative tasks;
- organising and coordinating appointments;
- preparing information materials;
- supporting the organization of events and documenting meetings, workshops and seminars within or outside the project;
- supporting (logistical and administrative) the organization of events;
- compiling, verifying, collecting data and information;
- supporting travel arrangements and preparation of the reporting documents;
- supporting procurement processes;
- supporting project monitoring activities;
- provision of written translation upon request.
Required qualifications, experience and competences:
- secondary school education;
- certificate/diploma or similar qualification from a recognized clerical college;
- at least 1-3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position;
- good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
- very good knowledge of English, native speaker of Ukrainian, ideally a knowledge of German;
- good management and organizational skills;
- customer and service-oriented attitude;
- willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.

Employment conditions
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. The contract duration is till 31.03.2024. Place of assignment is Dnipro, remote mode in the beginning is possible. The assignment starts as soon as possible.
