ЗАВЕРШЕНО
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for
the “Improvement of the state and municipal emergency management in Ukraine” programme to fill the position:
Translator / Interpreter (English / German / Ukrainian) (full-time, Kyiv)
(Internal SAP Code: Communication Specialist)
The aim of the project “Improvement of the state and municipal emergency management in Ukraine” is to support The State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations (DSNS), which includes civil protection and firefighting. DSNS is thus the main Ukrainian actor in minimizing and coping with the consequences and effects of the war on the population and (critical) infrastructure. Not least thanks to the massive support provided by the BMZ between 2015 and 2022, the DSNS has so far been able to make a significant contribution to the protection of lives, the maintenance of basic infrastructure and the continued existence of functioning state structures.
Against the backdrop of the war, the project approach builds a bridge between humanitarian aid and long-term development cooperation, from dependence on external aid to self-help and from destruction to reconstruction. In line with the BMZ’s strategy for structure-building transitional assistance, the partner’s stabilization capacity, adaptation capacity and transformation capacity are being strengthened.
The new project follows a multi-sectoral approach and covers all fields of action of structure-building transitional aid. (Food security, reconstruction of basic infrastructure and services, disaster risk management and peaceful and inclusive coexistence). The objective of the project is to strengthen the infrastructural and institutional conditions for functioning emergency management at national level and in selected municipalities. The target groups of the project’s activities at the individual level are the population affected by the war in selected municipalities in Ukraine, in particular vulnerable population groups.
