Introduction
The Right to Protection (R2P) is a charitable fund that strives for Ukraine to become a country where refugees, stateless, non-citizens and displaced persons enjoy dignity and protection. For the new Project, we are looking for the Public Information Officer to become a part of our team to share our values and to strengthen R2P communication potential.
The overall goal of the Project is to facilitate integration of refugees and asylum seekers into Ukrainian society. The project as a whole is designed to lay the groundwork for future integration efforts by civil society, government, and the private sector.
Duties & Responsibilities
Public Information Officer in coordination with R2P Communication Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of planned publicity campaigns and PR activities of the Project (short-term, part-time).
Other tasks include:
- planning publicity strategies and campaigns regarding to the Project’s aims;
- writing/updating of Project’s content and PR materials in website, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, LinkedIn;
- dealing with enquiries from the public, the press, and related organizations;
- organising and attending promotional events such as press conferences, round-tables;
- analyzing media coverage regarding to the Project’s issues;
- regularly updating organization’s information materials including reports, leaflets, etc.;
- building and sustaining an organization’s image and reputation for quality and reliability, ensure a favorable opinion the Project.
Required qualifications
- University (MS) degree, preferably in marketing, social sciences, journalism or law;
- Ability to work in team and independently;
- Deadline oriented and perfect time management skills;
- Willingness to pursue innovations in communications;
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art means of communication;
- Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy;
- Familiarity with Ukrainian society, institutions, agencies;
- Reasonable familiarity with humanitarian and migration themes;
- Excellent Ukrainian & Russian and English language proficiency;
- Relevant working experience over three years preferred.
We offer
R2P will offer the successful applicant a 6-month contract (September 2018 – February 2019), renewable dependent on funding and performance.
