International organization on child protection and health care Terre des homes (Tdh) is seeking for Child Protection Coordinator.
Location: Mariupol
Position Type: Full-time
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on the ongoing basis
Duration of the project: four months (January 2016 – April 2016)
The Coordinator reports to the Country Representative and provides multi-base, multi-sponsor and multi-partner supervision and follow-up for the projects in Child Protection sector. S/he is responsible for the implementation of the strategy and the development and managerial coordination of the project teams, and s/he has a major responsibility for the project strategies, steering and outcomes.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:

S/he supports and validates the quality of the work done by the teams as regards the Tdh mandate and commitments and international standards.

S/he coordinates and develops national measures for dialogue and partnership with state, national and international partners.

Use the requirement assessments to define the strategy

Participate in developing and changing institutional strategies and policies by including the thoughts of the staff in his/her area(s)

Coordinate the geographic developments of the sectoral strategy with the PL and the field coordinators (if several offices)

S/he facilitates and coordinates an intersectoral and/or integrated approach with the other sectors’ projects.

Collaborate in defining and implementing an operations strategy: financial, HR and thematic in coordination with Headquarters and the institutional organisations

Identify and share the positive and innovative experiences, information, research, best practice, relevant tools, etc.with the teams and the Head of Delegation.

Be familiar with and promote his/her sector’s institutional methodological guides with field teams and partners

Participate in the development of new tools in his/her field of activity

Develop training modules in collaboration with the training officers.

Lead training sessions for project teams.

Continually identify any new guidance requirements for the team.

Share and, if necessary, create planning, monitoring and evaluation tools which can be adapted to different projects.

Adhere to current budget guidelines and the budget, and ensure they are followed.
Required Skills and Experience:
-
At least 5 years of relevant working experience in child protection;

A minimum of 3 years project management experience with an INGO, including experience designing CP programmes in emergency and development contexts

University Degree in law, international humanitarian law, development studies, social sciences, social work or other relevant field

Experience working in IDP/refugee camp settings

Experience with managing teams and providing training and technical guidance, including remote management if necessary

Awareness of the international standards of Child Protection and Human Rights.

Awareness of minimum standards of Child Protection in humanitarian actions.

Analytical and planning skills;

Demonstrated ability to design and deliver tailored training in CP and child rights topics for government stakeholders, partner organisations, and beneficiaries

Ability and commitment to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds

Strong interpersonal communication, analytical and writing skills
-
Flexibility, creativity and a sense of humour

Cultural and political sensitivity and adaptability, ability to work and live in challenging circumstances

Professional fluency in English

Good knowledge of the sponsors’ standard tools and the strategic guidelines of local sponsors
