ADRA Ukraine is a subunit of a large worldwide network present in more than 125 countries, with the HQ in Washington D.C. ADRA Ukraine has been operating in Ukraine since 1993. Due to humanitarian response, ADRA Ukraine is providing humanitarian assistance to internally displaced people in 15 regions of Ukraine.

Grade: 4 – for Ukrainian nationals – Civil Agreement

Starts up date: 01/01/2016

Duration of the contract: 6 months, with possible prolongation

Location: Based in Kyiv with short-term trips to Donetsk and Lugansk regions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements PR strategies, PR budget, PR Plan;
  • Develops policies and procedures related to PR activities;
  • Supports active projects on PR tasks, meeting project requirements, and proposing own activities;
  • Defines communication channels to target social groups, prepares and supervises distribution and placement of informative materials in fields, involves media into project activities, participates in coordinating meetings with partner organizations, evaluates awareness of targeted social groups on project;
  • Maintains and updates information on the website, presence in social networks (facebook, vkontakte, twitter, youtube);
  • Researches, writes and distributes press releases, articles, interviews to targeted media and clients;
  • Conducting of press conferences, briefings, press tours;
  • Prepares and supervises production of publicity materials (brochures, infographics, newsletter, annual report, leaflets, posters), promotional videos and productions;
  • Fosters community relations through events such as fundraising campaigns, presentations, open days, workshops, and through involvement in community initiatives;
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations with local and municipal government officials and media representatives;
  • Developing relationships with national and international partners and donors, representation of organization interests;
  • Observes and reports on volunteering and humanitarian aids, social, economic and political trends that might affect organization, principles of communication with IDPs, etc.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A degree in social sciences, marketing, media studies, or management.
  • PR postgraduate qualification or at least 1 year experience in PR or marketing, fundraising, events promotion, or media.
  • Good skills of web-design, web-site support.
  • English – Upper Intermediate or Advanced.
  • Prior experience with NGO or humanitarian projects, understanding of development & humanitarian context is an advantage.
