The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a Copenhagen-based international humanitarian organization. DRC had undertaken several operations in Ukraine since 1998, and returned to the country with its specialized unit, the Danish Demining Group (DDG), in November 2014 to render its expertise at the onset of the humanitarian crisis. Since 2016, DRC, while continuing to answer to emergency needs, is gradually linking these to activities aiming at recovering from the crisis (livelihoods, capacity building of duty-bearers legal assistance, mine action). The DRC Ukraine country programme implements its operations from a national office in Kyiv and field offices in Mariupol, Slovyansk, and Severodonetsk.

 Overall purpose of the role:

DRC-DDG is seeking a highly qualified, enthusiastic and action-oriented individual for the position of Supply Chain Assistant to provide daily logistics and procurement support

Geographic scope:

Area (Mariupol) and Base (Sloviansk, Severodonetsk)

This role has both area and base coverage and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the area and base. The role contributes to the development of area and base strategies, which are translated into day-to-day tasks. The role provides support to area and base operations.

 Main responsibilities:

Procurement:

• Ensure that all orders are tracked from point of planning and request through to final receipt.

• Prepare the relevant documents for the procurement of goods and services

• Participate in evaluation of bids and proposals and make sure the bids evaluation report, technical evaluation, minutes of negotiations and negotiated contract in selection of consultants contain all the facts and information required to justify the recommendations made in the report.

• Participate in the joint verification of procured goods and equipment and to ascertain the items conformity to Technical Specifications and Quantities.

• Check that all assets old and new are properly recorded and tagged.

• Perform the physical asset check

• Overseeing deliveries to and dispatches from DRC warehouses and effecting the necessary documentation.

• Maintaining good communications with warehouse staff in other DRC locations and partner organizations

• Correctly apply ERP supply chain processes

 Fleet management:

• Assist with Fleet Management tasks as needed

• Compile regular fuel consumption reports and monthly vehicle utilization analysis

 

Required experience and competencies:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.

• Experience in administrative tasks, including filing systems.

• Excellent IT skills, including experience in operating an ERP

• Experience in supply chain management including procurement, transport and distribution, warehouse and stock management

• Experience with standard procurement procedures and documentation.

• Experience with construction and site project management

• Experience with auto mechanics or electrical installations.

• Advanced English proficiency

• Fluency in local language

Required education:

Diploma or equivalent professional qualification

 Contract length:

5 months. Salary and conditions in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates as posted at www.drc.ngo under Vacancies.

 Salary scale: level I
