Global Communities, is seeking qualified short-term consultants for USAID-funded Decentralization Offering Better Results and Efficiency Program (DOBRE):
POSITION: Short-term consultants to facilitate retreat event, communication training and team building activities for DOBRE team.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: January-February 2020
LOE (Level of Effort) DAYS: 11 days
Background:
Global Communities implementing USAID DOBRE program is looking for short-term consultants to facilitate retreat event and conduct communication training and team building activities for DOBRE team.
The goal of the DOBRE program is to leverage timely opportunities in the Ukrainian decentralization
process to build stronger, more transparent, and more inclusive local governance, which provides
openings for collaboration and oversight by an engaged citizenry at the local level. Better local
governance will enable the newly consolidated communities (CCs), created by the legal changes within
decentralization, to plan for, pursue, and achieve local economic and social development.
DOBRE Program has a large team of 60 employees located in 5 regional offices around Ukraine.
The goal of the retreat activity is to:
- strengthen the team by building professional skills of staff to equip them better in their jobs;
- align team by reflecting on their work and discussion of the future activities;
- focus on company’s culture and how people are expected to interact;
- improve team dynamics by integrating new staff members, and reenergizing current employees.
Tasks and responsibilities:
The retreat activities will consist of several sessions, including strategic and operational planning, effective communication, and team building.
The tasks for consultants are the following:
- In consultation with the senior management of DOBRE program develop an agenda of the event and prepare for it;
- Conduct 2-day interactive workshop;
- In the framework of the workshop, conduct a 4-5 hours training on team roles and communications skills.
- Conduct team building activities;
- Write a report including identified issues and recommendations for follow up activities.
Level of Effort: 11 Days
- Preparation for the workshop, discussion with DOBRE management team – 5 days
- Workshop implementation – 3 days
- Final report -3 days
Period of performance:
- Retreat is planned for January 28-30, 2020
Qualification:
- University degree in organizational behavior, psychology or related discipline;
- Extended record of similar work accomplished before
- Demonstrated knowledge of the organizational behavior theories and practices
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Extended knowledge of facilitation techniques
- Fluent English, Ukrainian and/or Russian.
