Background
UNODC Regional Programme Office in Ukraine seeks a Driver/Clerk, who will, under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of the UNODC Regional Programme office for Eastern Europe, assists in the effective and efficient management of the programme / project providing driving and courier delivery, applies and promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.The Driver/Clerk works in close collaboration with the Programme staff in the Regional Programme Office and other UN agencies staff to ensure consistent service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Summary of key functions:
- Provision of reliable and secure driving services;
- Proper use of vehicle;
- Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle;
- Availability of documents/supplies;
- Process utilities matters;
- Maintain records and provide logistical support to programme/ project.
Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services by a) driving programme/ project vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items, and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
Ensures utilities related correspondence are prepared and associated papers and documents are filed. Follows-up utilities bills for timely payments.
Ensures courier services.
Ensures that all logistical and administrative tasks with other agencies are handled with care.

- Clean and tidy vehicle;
- Valid vehicle insurance;

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Secondary Education;
- Valid Driver’s license of category «B» and «C».
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as a professional driver with an organization;
- Safe driving record;
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair;
- Knowledge of protocol and customs issues is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian;
- Working knowledge of English is a strong advantage.
