ENGin шукає Director of Communications and Volunteer Support
ЗАВЕРШЕНО
ENGin, a rapidly growing nonprofit that provides free, high-quality speaking practice for English learners in Ukraine, is looking for an experienced Director of Communications and Volunteer Support to join our leadership team.
ENGin was founded in March 2020; since then, over 4,500 students and 4,000 volunteers have participated in our online program. We are continuing to grow rapidly to reach 100,000 students. While the idea of teaching English isn’t new, our model is unique and our scale is unprecedented – our team is building something that has never been done before.
This role is a unique opportunity to help grow and lead a dynamic, innovative organization while positively impacting the lives of thousands of students. All work is done virtually; full-time (40 hours/week) preferred, but we will consider 25-30 hours/week. No students please – this role is too complex to combine with studies.
We offer a lot of potential for growth and development – if you are looking to build an exciting, high-impact career in the nonprofit sector, we would love to meet you!
Responsibilities:
- Manage our volunteer training program and supervise 2 trainers
- Manage our volunteer mentor program, volunteer shadowing program, volunteer certificates, and any future programs we create to support our volunteers
- Lead our social media strategy and supervise our social media manager
- Manage website updates (Wix website)
- Manage our student and volunteer support (lead team of 2-3 support agents; all support is via email)
- Manage communication with students and volunteers (e.g. monthly update emails, informational videos, etc)
Requirements:
- Fully fluent in written English (C2 level): You will be responsible for the creation of content that will be seen by thousands of people. As such, you must be completely comfortable writing in English. You must be able to naturally capture the voice and brand of our program in different contexts (e.g. social media post for students, email to a potential partner, program announcement, etc). You must be able to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely for an audience of teenagers and university students.
- Ready to lead: This is a management position. You will be supervising 6+ people. You must have experience leading a team.
- Independent, proactive, creative thinker: We will provide broad goals for each of your tasks and expect you do whatever is necessary to meet those goals. You will need to think critically and creatively to solve problems. There is a lot of room for innovation: you get to decide how to best do your job. If you prefer detailed instructions, predictable, routine tasks, and close supervision, this job will not be a good fit.
- Ready to work in a startup environment: We are a young, energetic team. We move quickly and think flexibly. We are changing our processes often to improve them and learning every day. Because we are a small team, each of us, even the CEO, is responsible for some administrative and basic tasks. Sometimes we help each other with different responsibilities. Flexibility and a positive attitude are key.
- Experience running an educational or youth program: Prior experience helping run programs similar to ours will be a huge plus!
- Excited about our mission: You should be passionate about our mission to transform Ukraine through English fluency.
Deadline: We are looking for someone to start ASAP and will review applications as they come in
