Junior Lawyer at SPILNO PPP Advisory – Молодший/а юрист/ка

Overview

SPILNO is a public-private partnership transaction advisory team engaged by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (the MIU) and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) to support the MIU in preparing infrastructure concessions, developing PPP framework, and institutional capacity.

We have deeply cooperated and coordinated our activity with Ukrainian Government Institutions. To reach successful transaction results, we provided institutional and analytical support to the MIU, local authorities, and consulting teams hired by the technical partners (the World Bank, IFC, and EBRD). In close cooperation with EBRD and IFC, the team successfully managed the preparation of two pilot transactions in Olvia and Kherson Seaports.

Today, SPILNO is an advisor with extensive experience in PPP at state and municipal levels providing high-quality consulting services to the public sector and IFIs to develop bankable PPP projects, fruitful for both parties. We are working on the PPP pipeline of priority projects in infrastructure sectors: regional airports, seaports, railway dry ports, and roads.

We are currently seeking a Junior Lawyer to join our team. The role will report to a Project Manager or Senior Lawyer in the SPILNO team.

Key duties

• Assisting in providing legal advice and guidance on implementing PPP projects both in Ukrainian and English languages
• Drafting and administering various legal documents, legal opinions, memorandums, etc.
• Working closely with the team, communicating with external experts and stakeholders involved
• Reviewing the requirements of Ukrainian legislation and case law
• Participation in discussions on meetings with other teams

Requirements

• Higher education in Law from a reputable Ukrainian university (applications from the last year students (bachelor or master’s degree) are acceptable)
• Deep practical understanding of civil, commercial, land, and tax law
• Fluency in Ukrainian and English (at minimum, B2, both written and verbal)
• Strong analytical abilities, outstanding drafting and presenting skills
• Knowledge of MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ consecutive years of relevant professional experience (preferably in Real Estate, Due diligence)
• Western LL.M
• Experience in working in multidisciplinary project teams
• Legislation drafting skills

• We are located in the administrative building of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (14, Peremohy Avenue)
• Rare business trips are possible
