Duty Station: Dnipro

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context: 

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Programme Manager (CCCM) and the direct supervision of Operation Officer (CCCM) and in coordination with other technical programme specialists, the successful candidate will support IOMs efforts to improve living conditions of crisis affected population across Ukraine. The incumbent will assist and support the implementation of CCCM activities conducted by the Mobile Team, including assessments and distribution. 

Core Functions / Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinate the operational, administrative and financial aspects of CCCM project within relevant region, including oversight responsibility of daily implementation and monitoring of project activities, and line-manage any project assistant if requested. 
  2. Ensure that projects meet their intended scope, timeframe, quality and budget and in alignment with IOM’s policies and procedures, global standards and best practices as well as donor requirements.
  3. Coordinate CCCM interventions with local municipalities and other counterparts to assure compliance with national and municipal plans and directions to avoid any overlapping with other actors. 
  4. Report to the Project Officer any needs and gaps identified in the field, including challenges in the project implementation and propose remedial actions.
  5. Monitor compliance in the visibility requirements, support the creation of PI materials and human-interest stories in coordination with the Communications team.
  6. Provide highly technical support to the Operation Officer (CCCM) in proposal design, project development, and reporting.
  7. Assist in developing the CCCM program ·strategy, identifying new areas of intervention, and developing on-going initiatives.
  8.  Participate in relevant forums and coordination meetings.
  9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least two years of professional experience; or
  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution. 

Experience  

  • Experience working with Camp Coordination and Camp Management operations preferable.
  • Experience in managing multi-sectoral activities, including distribution and community outreach.
  • Experience working with a non-governmental organization and/or international organization is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of project management cycle. 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft software such as Excel and PowerPoint and other software such as SPSS, KoBo toolbox, DropBox, etc.

Languages

Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.

A prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station and work permit, as applicable.
