SUMMARY
The KSEI Institute (KSEI), the think tank of the Kyiv School of Economics is searching for the Grants Manager.
KSEI performs top economic research and provides consultation in accordance with Ukrainian and global standards of quality; it aims to enhance the economic awareness of the political elite, business experts, and general electorate through the promotion of its research outcomes. One of the key areas of work of the Grant Manager will be the administration of EU and USAID-funded projects covering damages assessment caused by Russian aggression, recovery of Ukraine and sanctions in Russia etc, and management of grants distribution by KSEI.
DUTIES
- Serve as Grant Manager under supervision of the KSEI President and in coordination with the project managers;
- Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the grantors; oversee special audits conducted by grantors.
- Perform functions of financial administration and reporting to include, but not limited to: preparation and timely submission of grant applications and reports, development and adjustment of associated budgets, coordination of budgeted funds, screening and processing requests for expenditures.
- Participate in planning of the projects.
- Lead communications with the donors in coordination with the KSEI and projects` management.
- Oversee financial reporting.
- Monitor calls for proposals and coordinate applications for funding, write grants;
- Other duties as assigned by the KSEI President;
QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher education;
- Professional-level experience with responsibility for grant writing and project management;
- Excellent communication, presentation and computer skills; ability to develop own quality written products on Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in English;

KSE Institute is an analytical center at the Kyiv School of Economics. It specializes in analytics, consulting, research, develops strategies and recommendations for supporting a strong and innovative economy of Ukraine. KSE Institute provides consulting services for the public and private sectors. It is one of the largest Think Tanks in Ukraine.
In 2005, KSE / EERC and the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) established the Kyiv Economics Institute (KEI) to provide scientific economic facts for economic policy-making and changing the policy-making process based on data and facts.
For more than 10 years, school professors Denis Nizalov, Tom Coupe, Elena Nizalova, Hanna Vakhitova, Elena Besedina, Olexandr Shepotylo, Maria Vyshnya, Konstiantyn Yakovchyk-Besarab, and researchers Ilona Sologoub, Vasyl Khomyak, Roman Semko have promoted a unique approach to Ukraine in-depth data analysis for policy evaluation.
In 2013-2015, KEI went through a process of transformation into a direction and later – into a department. In 2016-2018, KEI worked as a department of the Kyiv School of Economics, consisting of several analysts and professors. In 2019, the field was singled out and renamed the KSE Institute.
Today, the institute’s team consists of 13 research centers and 44 experts, including internationally recognized PhD specialists, programmers, former government officials and consultants. Since its inception, the Head of the KSE Institute is Natalia Shapoval, Vice President for Economic and Policy Research at the Kyiv School of Economics.
Kyiv School of Economics holds the first place among the most powerful economic analytical institutions of Ukraine according to the RePEc rating.
KSE Institute research and projects
KSE Institute has more than 100 research and consulting projects.
During 2021, the KSE Institute implemented 50 projects – an expected revenue of about $2 million. The institute also implemented 15 social projects (pro bono).
The main areas of projects are the situation with COVID-19, health care financing, pharmaceutical market, macroeconomics, energy, green transformation, public procurement, creative economy, international trade, agriculture, corporate governance, local government, gender economy.
The team of the institute participated in the preparation and updating of the regional development strategy, health care strategy, small and medium business development strategy, investment strategy, as well as in the process of revising the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

KSE Institute is:
- 10 years of experience in developing and evaluating policies aimed at economic growth, as well as in the areas of public procurement, development of reform strategies, etc.;
- 10 years of experience in both public and private sectors, mainly focused on monetary policy and financial markets, investment;
- 14+ years of experience in macroeconomics, analysis and forecasting with a focus on econometrics and monetary economics;
- 15+ years in finance and strategic consulting in the public sector, international organizations, and in government projects.
