Background and general scope
Under the supervision of the Consortium manager, the Food Security Officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, implementation, supervision and reporting of food security activities, and for ensuring proper coordination with local implementing partners.
Tasks and responsibilities
● Contribute or lead food security assessment in targeted communities.
● Provide support to the team with designing and planning food assistance response.
● Train and support implementing partners (consortium partner CSOs) to build food and nutrition security strategies and meet the required international standards.
● Engage in the beneficiary selection process under the guidance of the overall programme.
● Design proper data collection and response analysis tools, and prepare and submit reports on food assistance provided.
● Closely coordinate with local implementing partners on provision of food parcels.
● Support the preparation of MoUs with local partners under the distribution of the food parcels.
Key competencies
●Master’s Degree in related technical field.
●Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in food security, humanitarian aid or other relevant field.
●Preferably previous experience in non-profit, non-governmental organization.
●Proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as in local language (Ukrainian/Russian).
●Solid organizational skills: detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
●Solid computer skills, including high proficiency in Word and Excel
●Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Contract type
Full-time or part-time, fixed-term contract (1 year)
