Position Description
EnCompass LLC is currently seeking a full-time Event Management/Capacity Building Officer candidate for Ukraine Monitoring and Learning Contract. The position is currently virtual due to the geopolitical situation in Ukraine but will eventually be based in Ukraine. The USAID/Ukraine Monitoring and Learning Support activity will assist the USAID Regional Mission for Ukraine in its overall monitoring and its collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA) needs.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
The Event Management and Capacity Building Officer will manage and lead the design and implementation of strategic planning and/or capacity building events to advance the capacity of USAID Mission staff and/or USAID implementing partners. S/he will work under direct supervision of the Senior CLA Specialist with team members and relevant stakeholders using participatory frameworks and approaches to collaborating, learning, and adapting, and develop appropriate formats, processes, and tools for specific events (offline, virtual, and hybrid) to achieve desired results.
The Event Management/Capacity Building Officer may design training materials, deliver training, facilitate learning and communities of practice, develop learning agendas, design, and maintain evaluation activities to determine effectiveness of capacity strengthening activities, and coordinate with support staff for training deliveries. S/he will also have a key role facilitating and/or producing UMLS events and will be committed to use participatory and strengths-based learning design and delivery approaches, as well as blended learning and evidence-based learning theory in all activities.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
- Masters’ degree in international development, organizational development, social science, or a related field
- No less than five years of demonstrated experience in event management, capacity strengthening, and training delivery are required. At least three years should be within international technical assistance projects.
Experience and Skills
- Experience designing and conducting planning, learning, training/coaching events, and building learning capacities of various stakeholder groups is required. Professional experience serving donor organizations, ITA implementers, and government officials preferred.
- Demonstrated experience applying a variety of participatory and strengths-based learning design and delivery approaches, blended learning, and evidence-based learning theory
- Familiarity with modern collaboration and e-learning tools and other online instructional products highly desirable. In the absence of such familiarity, willingness to learn and apply new approaches and tools/platforms will be essential.
- Though not required, preference may be given to Ukrainian nationals.
- Strong written and spoken English skills required, Ukrainian proficiency preferred.
