BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The Project Management Assistant (PMA) is located within USAID/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance’s Ukraine Humanitarian Office. The PMA supports the Senior Humanitarian Program Officer and Program Officers by providing the additional capacity to conduct assessments, monitor, and evaluate USAID/BHA-funded programs. The PMA will monitor the humanitarian context on the ground and help determine the feasibility of BHA funding through liaising with international NGOs, local NGOs, and PIOs to understand their assessment of the humanitarian and ER4 needs on the ground, what services these partners can bring and whether BHA funded programs would be appropriate in the next budget cycle via the concept note review process. Additionally, the PMA will provide budget management support and perform a wide range of secretarial and administrative functions essential to the efficient operation of the Ukraine Office. The PMA will work with a wide range of people to perform the duties and responsibilities described in this section, including USAID/BHA staff, implementing partners, program participants, government counterparts, alliance partners and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
Education: Minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary schooling, with a preference in WASH, food security, health, emergency assistance, political science, international development or affairs, law, social sciences, humanities, public or business administration, logistics/operations, or related field.
Work Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience in administration gained in, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), other donor organizations, host-government organizations, or private-sector institutions is required.
Language Proficiency: Level 4 (fluent) English and Ukrainian language proficiency, both oral and written, is required.
