Background
HELVETAS is the largest Swiss nongovernmental organization with a dual mandate for long-term development and humanitarian response. It has been present in Ukraine for several year implementing development projects mainly through local partners.
During 2022 HELVETAS initiated emergency assistance. Currently we are building our operational presence to deliver comprehensive response to the current humanitarian crisis. HELVETAS plan to be active in Ukraine for next 5 years.
Phase 3 of the project will cover needs for winterization in 2024-2025 as preparation for the next winter season. Complementary to this, we are planning to start delivery of assistance in February 2024 in response to requests from local municipalities for the current winter. Therefore, starting procurement procedures in January 2024 to cover partially winterization needs for 2023/2024. This support will complement ongoing winterization initiatives engaged for the winter 23/24 in the current phase 2 of REFAUK project.

Objective of the assignment
The position holder under the direction of the Country Coordinator and in cooperation with Helvetas support staff will manage implementation of Repair Facilitation Ukraine Phase 3 project. Position preferably based in Kharkiv, but possible for other locations with frequent travels to the project area.
Responsibilities

Support distribution of small grants to Ukrainian Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)

Conduct mapping of Ukrainian Civil Society activities

Review project applications and communicate with applicant organisations

Participate in preparation of grants agreements and related documentation in cooperation with grants officer

Coordinate support and communication with Repair Hub in Khakriv and Kyiv

Provide administrative support and consultations to awarded organisation
-
Support monitoring of partners organisation projects implementation

Support training and capacity building of partner organisations
-
Provide support to overall program implementation
-
Prepare project reports and documentation with the support of MEAL Manager

Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Ability to work independently

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Strong computer skills in MS Office programs

Strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail
-
Good oral and written English skills
-
Ukrainian citizenship
-
Work related travel (min. 25%)
Time frame of the assignment
The duration of the consultancy contract will be from March, 2024 until the December 31, 2024 with possibility of extention.
Start date: ASAP
Initial contract is signed as consultancy contract (PE/FOP) with perspective to shift to staff contract
